Shipping & arrival

Last updated September 30, 2026

These are the terms you agree to when you buy a plant from me. Every plant is one of a kind, grown in my own collection and checked over before it ships.

When I ship

I ship on Mondays and Tuesdays by UPS 2nd Day Air, so your plant never sits in a warehouse over a weekend. If you order later in the week, it goes out the following Monday or Tuesday.

Shipping & packing

Each plant shows its shipping & packing fee under the price, charged at checkout. It covers the UPS label and everything that keeps your plant safe on the way: the box, the container, the cushioning, and a heat or cold pack when the weather calls for one.

Each plant is its own checkout, so buying two means paying the fee twice. When I can ship them in one box, I’ll refund the extra fee.

Where I ship

I ship to every state in the U.S. Most plants travel in their pot. A few states don’t accept soil from out of state, so if you’re in one of them, your plant ships bare root: unpotted, with its roots cleaned and wrapped, ready for you to pot up when it arrives. If a state’s agriculture inspectors ever hold or refuse a package, I’ll refund your order.

Weather

When it’s very hot or very cold along your plant’s route, I add a heat or cold pack. If it’s too extreme to ship safely, I’ll hold your order and let you know when it goes out.

If your plant arrives damaged

Plants are living things, and travel is hard on them. If yours arrives dead or badly damaged, record one uncut video of opening the box and send it to me within 2 hours of delivery. UPS tracking shows the delivery time. You’ll find my email on my Contact page.

With a valid claim, I’ll refund the plant’s price, or send a comparable plant instead if I have one and you’d prefer it. The shipping & packing fee isn’t refunded, because the label and materials are already spent.

What isn’t covered

Corms are sold as-is. Variegation isn’t guaranteed unless the listing says so; it can shift as a plant grows. Because every plant is one of a kind and alive, I don’t take returns for a change of mind.

A note on safety

Alocasias contain calcium oxalate crystals and are toxic if chewed. Keep them away from pets and small children.

Questions

Not sure about something, including whether your state needs a bare-root plant? Message me before you buy and I’ll tell you where things stand.
